Former Pitt Center Terrence Moore Lands in the MAC

It didn’t take former Pitt offensive lineman Terrence Moore long to find a new home upon entering the transfer portal earlier this month.

Moore — a 6-foot-5, 305-pound interior offensive lineman from Massillon, Ohio — announced on social media that he’s committed to Toledo, who Pitt is playing in the GameAbove Sports Bowl later this month.

It’s a return a little closer to home for Moore.

Moore initially committed to Pitt as a three-star recruit out of Massillon, Ohio in the class of 2021. The big interior lineman committed to the Panthers over a long list of offers that included Arizona State, Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa State, Kentucky, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

Moore played in 39 games for the Panthers, mainly in a depth role, and recorded 10 starts. He made all but one of those starts last season.

Moore recorded 119 snaps this season, all at center. He entered the loss to Clemson after Cooper went down and struggled against the Tigers, but he started every snap at Boston College — allowing just one pressure and one hurry.

“Terrence getting his first start at center,” Narduzzi said last week. “It’s one thing after another and you continue to try to plug up holes. Gotta somehow get more depth in the future and stay healthy. We’ve got to stay healthy.”

Pitt is returning Lyndon Cooper, who supplanted Moore at center before the season, and the Panthers will also have Ryan Baer and BJ Williams in the mix.

The Panthers are targeting offensive linemen in the transfer portal, with a couple of linemen scheduled to be in town this weekend, and the goal is to improve play upfront in a major way.

Moore, on the other hand, will have a lot more opportunity to see the field at Toledo.
