The tight end position is another area that Pitt is looking to improve for next season.

The Panthers will be looking to replace Gavin Bartholomew, who will be taking his talents to the NFL. And although Jake Overman announced this week his return for 2025, Pitt is in need of a veteran presence that can give the Panthers production from that spot.

On Thursday, the Pitt staff extended an offer to a player that would be a big addition for the offense in Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns tight end Terrance Carter Jr.

The redshirt sophomore finished the 2024 season with 48 catches for 689 yards and four touchdowns. Carter’s season-best game was a seven catch, 149-yard performance on Oct. 19 vs. Coastal Carolina.

As a freshman, Carter (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) caught 28 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns.
