Kyle Louis is officially the 100th player in Pitt history to earn first-team All-American honors.

The Sporting News named Louis a first-team All-American on Thursday, adding to second-team honors from AP, CBS Sports and The Athletic. He also earned first-team All-ACC honors and finished third in ACC Defensive Player of the Year voting.

“We knew Kyle had All-America ability back in the spring,” Pat Narduzzi said via Pitt. “He absolutely delivered on our lofty expectations with an outstanding year. His production and impact were incredible. On behalf of our entire program, we congratulate Kyle on this richly deserved honor from The Sporting News. The best thing is, Kyle Louis is going to be even better in 2025.”

Louis was the heartbeat of the Pitt defense, reaching heights unseen by any defensive players in college football. He recorded 96 tackles (41 solo), 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, four interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), a forced fumble and two pass breakups.

“Well, I don’t do the (All-American) voting, but I know that I love that he’s on our team every single Saturday,” Cory Sanders said last month. “I do know that. I know that I love that he’s on our team every single practice, the way that he works, the way he shows and the way he makes everybody else better around him. So, at the end of the day, whoever does all that voting, hopefully they vote right.”

Louis himself doesn’t care about postseason accolades, whether it’s All-ACC or All-American or more. The goal is to win, and everything will fall into place with wins.

“I don’t really focus on that type of thing, I just try to keep tunnel vision on the next team, next opponent and how can I help my people win this game,” Louis said. “That’s the main thing I just focus on.”

Pitt didn’t finish the way it wanted to this season, dropping five games in a row, but there’s still a bowl game against Toledo. The GameAbove Sports Bowl is the last chance to hit the field this season, but Kyle Louis will likely return next season.

Pitt and Toledo are scheduled to kick off at Ford Field on Dec. 26 at 2 p.m.
