Pitt volleyball sees their season come to an end in the Final Four for the fourth-straight season as they fell to the Louisville Cardinals, 3-1.
The Panthers came out of the gate and looked like the top-seeded team as they won the first set 25-21 and started the second set hot as they went up 7-2. The Cardinals stormed back and took a 12-11 lead before going on to close out the set 25-23.
The Panthers played on set point four times in the third set but failed to close the set out and lost it, 29-27. In the fourth set, the Cardinals held all momentum and bolted out to leads of 14-7 and then 20-13 before closing the match out with a 25-16 closing set.
In a season where the Panthers clinched their first ever first-overall seed, their journey came up just short as Louisville now advances to play the winner of Nebraska and Penn St. in the National Championship game on Sunday.
