The Duquesne Men’s Basketball Team concluded its non-conference slate with a 93-45 victory over NAIA foe Cleary Friday night at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Duquesne (5-8) had five players achieve double figures, paced by Jakub Necas’s career high 15 point on 6-of-8 shooting. Eli Wilborn’s 14 points represented a season high as made all four of his shots from the field. Wilborn also had six rebounds. Cam Crawford totaled 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while both Jahsean Corbett and Kareem Rozier each concluded play with 10 points.

In this contest, all 11 players to see the floor scored, nine grabbed a rebound and seven had an assist. As a team, Duquesne had season highs with 62 points in the paint and 28 assists.

This is Cleary’s (2-11/1-5 WHAC) second season in existence and it is led by former Dukes staffer Carl Thomas. Both AJ Hess and Chris Williams each posted eight points.

Duquesne buried its first five shots from the field, which began with a Chabi Barre basket. Just 58 seconds into the game, Barre would exit the game in discomfort, taken off the court by a pair of teammates.

The Dukes fired it at a 72.4% clip leading 49-22 at halftime.

Though Duquesne missed its first few shots from the field in the second half, it got back to form with several transition dunks.

Lucas Prolla, who saw time in the first half, got back in late and made a pair of free throws, his first points with the program. Rozier then looked for and found Prolla in transition as the bench erupted.

Duquesne opens Atlantic 10 play Tuesday in a New Year’s Eve Showdown against Rhode Island in a game slated to tip off at 2 p.m.
