Following an official visit on Friday, Richmond transfer offensive lineman Keith Gouveia has committed to Pitt.
The 6-foot-4, 308-pound interior offensive lineman is the fifth transfer addition for the Pitt Panthers and the second offensive lineman, joining offensive tackle Kendall Stanley (Charlotte).

Last season for Richmond, Gouveia took 260 snaps and has played 1,837 in his career, all at left guard. In his four seasons with the Spiders, Gouveia made 24 starts (three this season, nine last season and 12 in 2022).
“The city of Pittsburgh really sold itself,” Gouveia told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “After getting shown around, I just fell in love with the city, I really enjoyed Pitt’s facilities. I really connected with coach Darveau and coach Narduzzi, just connected with all of it. All of this allowed me to really make my decision pretty easy.”
Another aspect that helped with the decision was the opportunity to immediately compete for a spot on Pitt’s 2025 starting line. Gouveia will have a chance to earn a spot that was occupied last season by Ryan Jacoby and Jason Collier Jr.
“Pitt’s need for interior lineman and with what they’re doing with the offense, it just aligns with everything that I want to do,” Gouveia said. “I’m told that I’ll be fighting for an interior offensive line job, fight for the left guard spot.”
“I’m a physical player that excels in the run game. In my pass pro, I have quick feet and quick hands. I consider myself a super physical, super gritty player.”
The native of Stephens City, Va., which is also the same hometown of former Pitt halfback George Aston, also received an offer from Virginia Tech. But he’s excited to get to Pittsburgh and get to work.
“It’s going to be great going to Pitt, knowing that all of this is over, takes a lot of stress off my shoulders,” Gouveia said. “Personally, knowing that I’m going to a place that has a good staff, that knows what they’re going, I’m just super excited, super stoked to have this opportunity.”
Considering Gouveia is an interior lineman, it would not be surprising to see Pitt try and sign another offensive tackle soon.
