Cooper Flagg posterized Pitt’s Guillermo Diaz Graham in Tuesday night’s game between Duke and Pitt.
Check out the highlight below.
Flagg starred for the Blue Devils throughout the entire game, especially early in the second half. The freshman phenom scored ten points in the first nine minutes of the half to extend Duke’s lead as high as 17 points early on in the frame. The freshman phenom came into the game against Pitt averaging 17.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils.
Flagg, the number one overall player in 247 Sports’ 2024 recruiting rankings, had a perfect “100” rating on the popular rankings site. The 6-foot-10, 205-pound prospect played high-school ball for the basketball powerhouse Montverde Academy. He chose the Blue Devils over UConn, which he visited last September.
Flagg is from Newport, Maine, and has since showcased his talent all over the country since moving to Florida to play for Montverde. He now joins a new-look Duke roster that includes Caleb Foster, Tyrese Proctor, and newcomers Maliq Brown, Mason Gillis, Sion James, and others.
Duke hadn’t landed 247Sports’ number one overall recruit since 2018, when it reeled in RJ Barrett. That class also included Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson. In addition to Flagg, Scheyer also brought in 2025 five stars Khaman Maluach (7-foot-1 center), Isaiah Evans (6-foot-6 wing), and Kon Knueppel (6-foot-5 wing), who all played against Pitt.
This summer, Flagg competed against the USA’s best basketball talent — the Olympic team.

Flagg was added to the Team USA Select Team over the summer, and spent some time now in Las Vegas scrimmaging against the Team USA Olympic Team that was preparing for the upcoming Olympics. At just 17 years old, the Duke freshman has already played against the best of the best in the world.
