Justice Finkley has shown flashes throughout his career at Texas, but he will spend his final season of eligibility elsewhere — potentially at Pitt.
Pitt has been in contact with Finkley — a 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive end from Trussville, Ala. — in the transfer portal, according to an article by Chris Hummer & Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

Finkley is currently visiting West Virginia and has made a trip to Minnesota and Mississippi State. 247Sports further reported that Arizona, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Pitt have been involved.
Finkley was one of the top recruits in the class of 2022, ranked as a consensus four-star recruit and top-200 player.
He committed to the Longhorns over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and West Virginia.
According to Pro Football Focus, Finkley played 95 defensive snaps this season. He recorded five tackles (one solo) this season and added six quarterback pressures — in a limited pass rushing role.
Finkley played just six games this season, after playing in 26 games during his first two seasons at Texas.
He’s recorded 26 tackles (10 solo), four tackles for loss and two sacks in three seasons, putting in a career-best performance in 2023.
Pitt has revamped its edge rushers this offseason, adding a trio of pass rushers in Utah State transfer Blaine Spires, Eastern Michigan transfer Joey Zelinsky and Oregon transfer Jaeden Moore.
The room will be without starter Nate Matlack and rotational pieces Sincere Edwards and Chief Borders next season, so the unit can use all the help it can get out of the portal.
Finkley has just one season of eligibility remaining, and is in high demand around the country, but he would be a nice addition to the room.
