Pitt Still Ranked Top-20 Team Despite Loss to Duke

Pitt is still ranked as the No. 20 team in the nation, according to the NCAA's NET rankings, despite a 29-point loss to Duke this week.

The Panthers are 12-3 and 3-1 in ACC play. Check out the breakdown below of Pitt’s record, by Quadrant.

Pitt’s best win of the year came at Ohio State. The Panthers have dropped Q1 games to Wisconsin, Duke, and Mississippi State. In the second quadrant, Pitt has earned two solid wins, beating West Virginia at home and beating LSU on a neutral floor at The Greenbrier.

Pitt will now face off against Louisville, a team that has won five games in a row.

The Cardinals are a top-five team in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 38.3 rebounds per contest. They lead the league in three-point attempts per game, as a team. They have a three-point sniper that comes off the bench, too. Reyne Smith is leading the league in three pointers per game at 3.4, and has made 54 threes so far this year. They also have two players with at least 38 offensive rebounds this season — Hadley and James Scott — while Pitt has none. The Cardinals are the No. 2 team in the ACC in offensive rebounding, averaging 12+ per game.

Pitt Vs. Louisville will tip off at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Petersen Events Center. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
