Carson Beck transfer to Miami, will play Pitt in 2025.

It did not take long for the top transfer option to last on the market as former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced his commitment to an Atlantic Coast Conference school.

Beck, who entered the transfer portal on Jan. 9, quickly became the top player and quarterback in the transfer portal. A day later, he confirmed via X that he has committed to Miami.

Beck and the Hurricanes will travel to Pittsburgh in the fall to take on Pitt at Acrisure Stadium with a date and time still to be announced.

Starting the past two seasons at Georgia, Beck compiled a 24-3 record. The Jacksonville, Fla. native completed 290-of-448 (65%) passes for 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as a redshirt senior in 2024 on the way to an 11-2 record that included an SEC Championship win over Texas.

However, he was sidelined for the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup against Notre Dame with a UCL injury that he suffered in the win against Texas.

In 2023, he completed 302-of-417 (72%) passes for 24 touchdowns and six interceptions as the Bulldogs went 13-1 with a 63-3 win in the Orange Bowl over Florida State.

The transfer decision comes after Beck originally declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Dec. 28. However, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, he never signed with an agent, allowing him to return to college. Beck entered the portal with a ‘do not contact tag‘ and it was expected that he was on his way to Miami.

It is also reported that Beck’s NIL deal is valued at one year, $4 million.

Beck will step in as the signal caller for a Miami team that losses starting quarterback Cam Ward, who was a Heisman finalist and led the Hurricanes to a 10-3 record.

The last time Pitt played Miami came in 2022 when the Panthers defeated Miami at Hard Rock Stadium, 42-16. Quarterback Kedon Slovis tossed three touchdowns, all to receiver Jared Wayne, who amassed 205 receiving yards on 11 receptions. Running back Israel Abanikanda added 111 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

Miami last traveled to Pittsburgh in 2021 when it defeated the 17th-ranked Panthers, 38-34, before Pitt went on to win the ACC.
