Pitt Wrestling Adds Commitment from 2026 In-State Recruit

Pitt wrestling has landed its second in-state commitment in as many days, this time in the Class of 2026.
Nadav Nafshi — a 2026 recruit out of Germantown Academy — announced his commitment to Pitt wrestling Tuesday evening via Instagram.
Nafshi commits to Pitt a day after the Panthers secured the highest-rated recruit in program history in Vince Bouzakis out of Wyoming Seminary College Predatory School located in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
“I’m proud to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh! I’m incredibly grateful for the support and guidance from my family, friends, and coaches who have helped me reach this point. Time to get to work,” Nafshi said in his post on Instagram.
This season at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pa., Nafshi has compiled a record of 29-5 with 14 pins, four technical falls and a pair of major decisions. 20 of his wins have come at 160 pounds.
Prior to Germantown, Nafshi spent three years at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr, Pa. During that time, he posted an 88-26 record.
As a sophomore, Nafshi went 36-10 with 12 pins, 13 technical falls and four major decisions on the way to a first place finish in the section at 152 pounds. He finished third at the PIAA Class AAA Southeast Regional and eighth in the PIAA Class AAA championships.
Nafshi took an official visit to Pitt in October. He chose the Panthers over other official visitors in West Virginia and Indiana.
He becomes the third wrestler to commit to Pitt in the Class of 2026, joining Elijah Brown out of Belle Vernon High School and Karson Brown from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio.
