Pitt Offers Central Catholic EDGE Ashton Blatt on Junior Day

Pitt target Ashton Blatt.

Ashton Blatt is no stranger to the University of Pittsburgh, considering he’s a local, but he’s finally picked up an offer from the Pitt Panthers.

Blatt — a 6-foot-4, 230-pound edge rusher from Central Catholic in Pittsburgh — picked up an offer from Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers in person on Saturday as he attended the second Junior Day in the city.

Pitt joined a list of suitors that includes Duke, Eastern Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, Toledo West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Blatt joins fellow Central Catholic stars Colsen Gatten (2026) and Jimmy Kalis (2027) in picking up an offer from the Panthers.

Blatt has been on the Pitt coaching staff’s radar for a couple of years now. He’s received a ton of mail from the staff and made a trip to Acrisure Stadium with his CC teammates for the Pitt win against Syracuse last fall.

He’s a big, athletic prospect who entered high school as a quarterback but has shifted to the defensive side of the ball. And that was on full display as a junior.

Blatt starred on the defensive side of the ball for Central Catholic, recording 32 tackles (23 solo), 13 tackles for loss and a team-high seven sacks.

247Sports rates Blatt as the 29th-ranked edge and 14th-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania. Rivals and On3 haven’t rated Blatt yet, but that will change in the weeks and months to come.

Pitt hasn’t landed a commitment from a class of 2026 prospect yet, but with a couple of Junior Days over the last two weeks, the emphasis has shifted from the transfer portal to the high school ranks.

Blatt would be an excellent lead-off commitment in the class of 2026, but his recruitment will likely heat up through the spring and summer. It will be important to land Blatt on further visits in the months ahead.

Pittsburgh Sports Now will have more on Blatt and his offer from Pitt soon.
