PITTSBURGH — On Saturday afternoon, Pitt lost to Clemson in an ACC battle at the Petersen Events Center, 78-75. Check out the postgame press conference from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel, guard Ishmael Leggett and Clemson head coach Brad Brownell from after the game.

The Panthers struggled to contain the Tigers’ three-point shooting early in the game, surrendering ten first-half threes to Brad Brownell’s team. At the half, Pitt trailed 40-30, and the Panthers had shot just 12 for 32 in the frame.

In the second half, Pitt looked to Guillermo Diaz Graham for some early three-point production. Diaz Graham, along with Ishmael Leggett, Damian Dunn, Cam Corhen, and others led the charge late in the game, bringing Pitt back into it while holding Clemson scoreless for a key three-minute span during the half.

In the final minute, Pitt and Clemson were locked at 64. Jaeden Zackery drained a mid-range two-pointer to give the Tigers a two-point lead. Jaland Lowe countered for Pitt, getting to the rim and making a right-handed layup over Ian Schieffelin. In the final ten seconds, Leggett earned a steal, stripping Zackery and taking the ball the other way. He launched a half-court heave as time expired, hitting the rim, but bouncing off. The game then went into overtime.

In the extra period, Clemson went on a quick 7-0 run with buckets from Zackery, Chauncey Wiggins, and Schieffelin. The Panthers trailed by five points with two minutes remaining in OT, and looked to Jaland Lowe for a three pointer to cut it to two. However, Wiggins responded with a two pointer inside over Zack Austin.

While Pitt continued to fight back, the Tigers looked to their star player when they needed him most. Chase Hunter stepped into a three pointer from the wing, and drained it over Lowe. After Austin threw down a dunk with two seconds left, Pitt fouled the Tigers, and free throws from _ clinched the win over Pitt.

With the loss, Pitt fell to 12-6 overall and 3-4 in ACC play. The Tigers improved to 14-4 and 7-1 in ACC action with the win.
