Pitt Hasn’t Stopped Offering Prospective Quarterbacks

Pitt has secured its quarterback of the class of 2026, but considering its January, it’s not a surprise that the coaching staff is continuing to extend offers.

Pitt kicked off its class of 2026 with a commitment from three-star quarterback Angelo Renda on Wednesday, which is a very strong start to the class — and a potential building block for years to come.

“Whether they had a commit before me or two commits, I don’t think it really matters because I really like them, but being the first one, not a lot of people can say they were the first one in the class,” Renda told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “So, for me to have that opportunity, it’s awesome, I get to lead the way and bring a lot of guys with me.”

Pitt hasn’t had a multi-quarterback class in quite some time, but even last year, as recent signee Mason Heintschel committed, the Panthers continued to look at prospective quarterbacks. It doesn’t mean that there will be more quarterbacks added to the class, but there’s always the potential. Especially now.

As it stands, Pitt has three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

Eli Holstein is the starter, and while he has a few seasons of eligibility remaining, he could exit for the NFL at the end of the season if it goes well. Julian Dugger is entering his second season with the program, and Heintschel is entering his first. It’s not exactly a veteran unit.

Pitt extended offers Thursday to Carter Emmanuel and Corey Dailey.

Emmanuel — a 6-foot-2, 200-pound three-star quarterback from Edgewater High in Orlando, Fla. — received the offer from running backs coach Lindsey Lamar. He holds offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas, FAMU, Georgia State, Liberty, Marshall, Troy, UCF, USF, West Virginia and Western Kentucky.

247Sports rates him as the 81st-ranked quarterback and 90th-ranked recruit from Florida in the class. Rivals has given him a 5.6 Rivals Rating.

Dailey — a 6-foot-6, 180-pound quarterback from Seguin, Texas. — received an offer from offensive coordinator Kade Bell. This becomes Dailey’s first Power 4 offer.
