Pitt is testing its luck with a 2026 four-star wide receiver that has been committed to the Michigan Wolverines since October.

Jaylen Pile — a 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect out of Parish Episcopal High School in Dallas, Texas — picked up an offer from special teams/tight end coach Jacob Bronowski and the Pitt Panthers on Thursday.

Bronowski recently visited Parish in early January as Pitt has ramped up its recruiting efforts in Texas.

Pile’s offer from Pitt becomes his first since committing to Michigan and follows the Panthers landing their first commitment in the 2026 class from Texas quarterback Angelo Renda. Pile played alongside Renda at Southlake Carroll during his freshman season before transferring to Parish in the summer of 2023.

With Renda as Pitt’s first verbal pledge in the 2026 cycle, he plans on turning his focus to recruiting other players to Pitt and Pile could be on that list.

“I’m here to win, I’m here to stay and I’m here to bring some guys with me. So, I got to get this 2026 recruiting class rolling. We’re working on it right now, but it’s going to be fun,” Renda told Pittsburgh Sports Now.

With the Pitt coaching staff targeting a Michigan commit, they are looking to reverse what occurred with their recruitment of 2025 defensive back Elijah Dotson, who flipped from Pitt to Michigan prior to early National Signing Day.

Rivals.com ranks Pile as a 5.8 four-star recruit and the 52nd-best receiver in the class and No. 35 overall player in Texas. Pile had a long list of suitors before committing to Michigan on Oct. 17 and that included offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi State and others.

As a junior, Pile recorded 63 receptions for 1,367 yards and 19 touchdowns as he possesses great ball skills and is a vertical threat down field. In his first season at Parish in 2023, he helped the Panthers win their fifth consecutive TAPPS Division I football title with 427 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
