Hopewell HS Girls Basketball Beats Ambridge, Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

With just two weeks left in the regular season, the Hopewell HS Girls Basketball team is playing with no margin of error.
The top 4 teams in the section qualify for the playoffs so the Lady Vikings need to continue stacking wins and need some help if they’re going to keep their playoff streak alive.
Tonight, Hopewell traveled to Ambridge needing to win and they did just that, beating the Lady Bridgers, 53-15.
The outcome of this game was never in question as Hopewell led 38-8 at halftime.
Looking at the final boxscore, three Hopewell players scored a game-high 11 points- Caylee Sundy (who only played the first two quarters), Avery Boyd and Alyssa Spang.
Following that trio, it was Addison Blosnick with 9 points, Aubrey Cumpston with 4 points, Marlee Page, Layla Biller and Maya Richburg each with 2 points and Allison Ramaley with 1 point.
Congrats to freshman Layla Biller as she scored her first varsity basket!
Here’s the updated playoff scenario for Hopewell. They need to beat Lincoln Park on Tuesday and then hope for Hampton to lose 2 of their last 3 games. That’s certainly a possibility as two of their opponents will be Blackhawk and Beaver.
Next up for Hopewell will be a non-conference game on Saturday at Rochester.
