Another Young Talent Transfers from the WPIAL

To say it’s been a rough month for the WPIAL in terms of losing young talent would be an understatement.
For the last year, players in the WPIAL class of 2027 have been much talked about and referred to as future D-I and Power Four talent. Unfortunately for local football, a handful of those players have made the decision to take their talent elsewhere.
Things started with 2027 three-star running back Jance Henry transferring from Central Valley High School and going to Bishop Hoban in Akron, Ohio. Then, Aliquippa three-star running back Sa’Nir Brooks transferred to St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md., which was followed by Aliquippa 2027 four-star cornerback Larry Moon Jr. going to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
This morning, another player announced he was leaving Western Pennsylvania.
2027 offensive lineman Jamar Allen posted a tweet of his move from Aliquippa to St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.
I’m enrolled at Saint Francis Academy. Class of 27! Please reach out to @CoachMessay or @ryanburbrink for my recruitment thank you. @adamgorney @BrianDohn247 @SWiltfong_ @CraigHaubert pic.twitter.com/J6BBqbd4l6

Allen (6-foot-1, 310 pounds) had to sit out last season after transferring from North Hills High School to Aliquippa. Now, Allen will be leaving Aliquippa to join his teammate Brooks in Maryland.
It’s very likely that in the near future, you’ll be hearing about other players transferring from the WPIAL. The ‘Wild West’ in terms of player movement is now not exclusive to just college athletics. Times are definitely changing.
