Dynamic 4-Star ATH Making Yet Another Visit to Pitt

Pitt has had a type when it comes to recruiting skill players since offensive coordinator Kade Bell arrived before the 2024 season, and Damon Ferguson fits that mold to a T.
Ferguson — a 5-foot-11, 190-pound four-star athlete from Milford Mill Academy in Baltimore, Md. — is taking an official visit to Pitt from June 5-7, he announced on social media. He’s an elusive athlete with track star speed who has built a strong relationship with running backs coach Lindsey Lamar.
“I like Pitt, and coach Lamar has been talking to me a lot,” Ferguson told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I’ve visited three times, and I want to see the other parts of Pitt. I’ve been able to see all of the football, so now it’s time for me to get the entire experience.”
He’s picked up offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, JMU, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina, Northwestern, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, UCF, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Aside from Pitt, Ferguson has scheduled an official visit to Virginia.

Pitt has been in the mix for Ferguson since last January, and he’s heard from Lamar every step of the way — there’s a strong relationship. He made it out for a practice last March, returned for the Backyard Brawl last September and is excited for a more “complete” experience this summer.
Ferguson knows what Pitt is about offensively, and the coaching staff could fit him in the lineup at a couple of spots. But he’s an elite athlete out of the backfield.
He’s a sub-11.00 100-yard dasher, which points to his straight-line speed, but his quickness and burst stand out watching his tape.
In just nine games as a junior at Milford Mill, Ferguson exploded for 1,341 yards (12.8 yards per carry) and 16 touchdowns on the ground. He added six catches for 118 yards (18.8 yards per reception) and another touchdown. And he added 26 tackles, three interceptions and six pass breakups on defense.
247Sports rates Ferguson as the 23rd-ranked athlete and seventh-ranked recruit from Maryland while On3 rates him as the 22nd-ranked ranked athlete and seventh-ranked recruit from Maryland.
ESPN ranks him as a top 200 recruit in the country (14th-ranked athlete and fifth-ranked recruit from Maryland.
Pitt is in a good position with Ferguson, considering the familiarity and relationship with Lamar, but there will be a lot of schools in pursuit. The Panthers will look to build upon a strong foundation over the next couple of months.
Pitt has secured one commitment in the class of 2026, starting the class of strong with a commitment from three-star quarterback Angelo Renda (Southlake, Tx.). Dabney would be a nice addition down the line.
