Pitt Receiving Official Visit from ‘Priority’ 3-Star RB

The official visitors are starting to roll in for Pitt football — even though the official visit window is five months away.
Christian Lawrence — a 5-foot-9, 185-pound three-star running back from Thomas County in Thomasville, Ga. — is taking an official visit to Pittsburgh from June 6-8, he told Pittsburgh Sports Now. He’s the second running back to confirm a visit, along with four-star recruit Favour Akih.
“I decided to take an official visit to Pitt because I love the coaching staff, and I love how of a priority I am to them,” Lawrence told PSN. “And I also would like to visit the school and see the campus.”
Lawrence holds offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, ECU, Florida A&M, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Liberty, Marshall, Pitt, Purdue, UCF, UConn, USF and Vanderbilt.
Pitt has been recruiting Lawrence for a while, with offensive coordinator Kade Bell extending an offer on Nov. 20, and it was Bell who invited Lawrence up for an official visit.
Lawrence earned first-team All-Region this past season, and it’s easy to see why the coaching staff values his style of speed and agility out of the backfield.
Lawrence was dominant as a junior at Thomas County, leading the Yellow Jackets with 161 carries for 1,468 yards (9.1 yards per carry) and 18 touchdowns — adding 22 receptions for 326 yards and three more touchdowns.
247Sports rates Lawrence as the 39th-ranked running back and 54th-ranked recruit from Georgia while On3 rates him as the 35th-ranked running back and 39th-ranked recruit from Georgia.
Rivals hasn’t ranked him yet, but he holds a 5.6 Rivals Rating.
Lawrence hasn’t been on campus yet, and it seems likely he could take a visit before his official visit in June, but an official visit is what’s needed to truly advance the relationship.
Pitt has secured one commitment in the class of 2026, starting the class of strong with a commitment from three-star quarterback Angelo Renda (Southlake, Tx.). Dabney would be a nice addition down the line.
