Five WPIAL Stars Earn Place in 2027 Rivals250 Ranking

The WPIAL isn’t represented in the Rivals250 in the upcoming class, but the class of 2027 is shaping up to be one of the best classes in recent memory.
Five WPIAL stars were included in the most recent Rivals250, which features Kemon Spell, Gabriel Jenkins, Armand Hill, Khalil Taylor and Jimmy Kalis. Carter Bonner (Penn Hills) isn’t in the Rivals250 but is considered a top-10 recruit in Pennsylvania. It’s a star-studded cast that figures to be one of the best in years.
Kemon Spell — running back, McKeesport
Rivals rates Spell as the 77th-ranked recruit in the class (fifth-ranked running back and top-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania.
Spell (5-foot-10, 195 pounds) holds offers from Akron, Florida State, Marshall, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, UCLA, UNLV, West Virginia and Wisconsin, but he gave the Nittany Lions an early commitment last August.
Gabriel Jenkins — defensive back, Imani Christian
Rivals rates Jenkins as the 133rd-ranked recruit in the class (fourth-ranked nickel cornerback and third-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).
Jenkins (6-foot, 170 pounds) holds offers from Akron, JMU, Marshall, Miami (Oh.), Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse, Toledo, UCF and West Virginia.
Armand Hill — running back, West Mifflin
Rivals rates Hill as the 137th-ranked recruit in the class (ninth-ranked running back and fourth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).
Hill (5-foot-10, 165 pounds) holds offers from Akron, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse, Toledo, UNLV and West Virginia.
Khalil Taylor — athlete, Seton La Salle
Rivals rates Taylor as the 189th-ranked recruit in the class (fourth-ranked all-purpose back and fifth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).
Taylor (6-foot, 180 pounds) holds offers from Akron, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, UConn, UNLV and West Virginia.
Jimmy Kalis — offensive line, Central Catholic
Rivals rates Kalis as the 208th-ranked recruit in the class (19th-ranked offensive tackle and sixth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).
