WATCH: QB Mason Heintschel, Early Enrollees Talk Transition to Pitt

PITTSBURGH — On Wednesday, Pitt football introduced several of its newcomers, including four freshman early enrollees.
Quarterback Mason Heintschel, tight end Max Hunt, running back Ja’Kyrian Turner and offensive lineman Akram Elnagmi all spoke with the Pitt media for the first time on the South Side.
Check out each press conference below:
Heintschel — a 6-foot-2, 200-pound talent out of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio — was one of the first offensive Pitt commits of the 2025 class. The signal caller spoke about what attracted him to Pitt and the connection he has built with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kade Bell.
Hunt, who stands at 6-foot-4 and attended Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., discussed how tight ends coach Jacob Bronowski sees him fit into the Pitt offense as a dynamic playmaker.
Another player that can make an impact on offense is Turner, who expects to fill a similar role that Desmond Reid has played as a versatile running back that can catch the ball out of the back field. The South Sumter High School product from Florida also discussed how he has adapted to life in Pittsburgh.
Out of all the freshmen that Pitt brought in, Elnagmi is facing the biggest transition after moving to the United States from the United Kingdom. The NFL Academy product talked about his transition to Pitt and how he has is adapting to the fast offensive line play.
