Blake Hinson set a career-high at Pitt with 41 points. He’s now topped that at the professional level.

Hinson for 41 points in the Santa Cruz Warriors’ 152-144 win Thursday night against the Stockton Kings in G-League action. It was a performance reminiscent of the spark he showcased during his time with the Panthers.

Hinson connected on 17-of-25 field attempts (8-of-13 from 3-point range) and added 11 rebounds and an assist. It was a dominant all-around performance for the 6-foot-8 sharpshooter.

In 18 games with the Warriors — the G-League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors — this season, he’s averaged 15.7 points on 40/36/56 shooting splits, adding 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and .5 steals per game.

It’s Hinson’s chance to show the NBA he belongs, after going undefeated in the 2024 NBA Draft. He signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers following the draft and showed flashes during his Summer League showings — hitting at least five 3-pointers in multiple games and scoring 23 points in the Lakers’ finale against the Chicago Bulls.

Hinson signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Warriors in September, after being waived by the Lakers, and it allowed him to participate in the preseason and play for the G-League squad if he didn’t make the NBA roster.

Hinson — a forward from Deltona, Fla. — capped off his two-year Pitt career with a dominant showing as a senior. He averaged 18.8 points per on 45/42/67 shooting splits and added 4.6 rebounds per game. He hit the 20-point mark 14 times and hit 41 points against Louisville.

He earned first-team All-ACC honors as a senior, setting a single-season program record with 110 3-pointers and a single-game program record with nine 3-pointers in a game (against West Virginia).

In two seasons at Pitt, Blake Hinson averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and one assist per game on 44/40/67 shooting splits — showing a knack for hitting deep or contested 3-point attempts.

He also played for Ole Miss and Iowa State during his collegiate career.
