Report: Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro to Announce Pitt Game on Radio

According to a report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Chris Carter, Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro will be on the call for the Pitt basketball game on Tuesday night.
Shapiro will join Pitt legend and regular radio host Curtis Aiken on 93.7 The Fan, providing color commentary for the Pitt game against Syracuse.
Aiken was appointed to the Pitt Board of Trustees by Shapiro in early 2024.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed by Governor Shapiro to the Board of Trustees for our University,” Aiken said at the time of his appointment. “My journey to this tremendous milestone is a testament to dedication, hard work and hundreds of thoughtful supporters who prodded and prayed for me from student-athlete to this pinnacle.
“I will seek to be a vessel for input from students, faculty, administrators, and the community to continue to make our beloved institution better,” Aiken continued. “Most important, I want to express my tremendous gratitude to Governor Shapiro for his faith in me to represent him and the Commonwealth during these challenging times.”
Shapiro’s daughter went to Pitt and graduated in 2024, according to the Post-Gazette.
The Pitt-Syracuse game will tip off at 7 p.m. at Petersen Events Center. The game will be televised on ACC Network and live on the radio at 93.7 The Fan FM. Pitt comes into the game with a road victory over Syracuse from earlier this season. Pitt took down the Orange 77-73 on Jan. 25, despite 23 rebounds from Eddie Lampkin of Syracuse.
Jaland Lowe turned in a strong 22-point performance in the win. He missed Pitt’s last game against Miami, but as of Monday, Lowe has been cleared for the upcoming game against the Orange.
