Pitt Vs. Syracuse Preview: Betting Info, TV, More

On Saturday afternoon, Pitt snapped its four-game losing streak with a road win at Syracuse, improving to 13-6 overall and 4-4 in ACC play.

On Tuesday night, Pitt (15-10, 6-8 ACC) is back in action, hosting the Syracuse Orange in a pivotal ACC game at Petersen Events Center.

SYRACUSE ORANGE (11-15, 5-10 ACC)

Head Coach: Adrian Autry (2nd season)

ORANGE REPORT

Syracuse has lost two games in a row after beating Boston College in triple overtime weeks ago. The Orange recently fell to Miami and North Carolina, similarly to Pitt. Syracuse hung around with North Carolina and only lost by six points in its most recent game.

In that game, big man Eddie Lampkin went for 26 points and 11 rebounds. He was the story of the first matchup against Pitt, too, as he grabbed 23 rebounds in the tight loss to the Panthers in New York earlier this season. Star guard JJ Starling had 22 points and six rebounds against UNC, and Lucas Taylor added ten points. Syracuse out-rebounded UNC, but lost the game.

The Orange rank third in the league in defensive rebounds per game, and third in the league in bench points per game. Rebounding, as it was in the first game, despite Pitt’s win, will be a major storyline in this matchup.

METRICS

Pitt is ranked No. 51 in the NET rankings, while Syracuse is ranked No. 146. This is a Quad 3 opportunity for Pitt, and a Quad 1 game for Syracuse.
