PITTSBURGH — Pitt secured its second ACC victory in a row over rival Syracuse, 80-69, Tuesday night at the Petersen Events Center.

Panthers head coach Jeff Capel, forward Zack Austin and guard Ishmael Leggett spoke with the media following the win. Syracuse head coach Adrian Autry provided his thoughts from the Orange side after his team’s third-consecutive loss.

Check out the press conferences below:

The Panthers (16-10, 7-8) trailed for over 27 minutes and starred down a 16-point deficit before turning it around in the second half led by veterans Zack Austin and Ishmael Leggett.

Austin and Leggett poured in 19 apiece as both knocked down three triples. Lowe added 17 points, while Cummings scored 11.

In the second half, Pitt shot 15-for-24 (62.5%) and 6-of-10 (60%) from deep, reversing the course of its poor offensive start.

Pitt’s comeback was also sparked by the shot blockers with Guillermo Diaz Graham swatting four looks and Austin denying three attempts. Syracuse did not block a shot.

The Orange (11-16, 5-11) relied on their deep ball, hitting a season-high 14 threes with Chris Bell connecting on seven that led to a game-high 23 points.

Pitt will travel to South Bend, Ind. to take on Notre Dame this Saturday. Tip is set for 2:15 p.m.
