Pitt FB Recruiting
Pitt Receives Commitment from 2026 3-Star DB Isaac Patterson

Pitt’s second commitment for their Class of 2026 arrives this afternoon.
3-star defensive back Issac Patterson made the decision to shut down his recruitment and to commitment to the Pitt Panthers.
Patterson is a 3-star athlete from Westerville South High School in Columbus, Ohio. The 6’0″, 180-pound athlete is being recruited to Pitt has a safety and his chief recruiters were Ryan Manalac and Cory Sanders.
Along with Pitt, Patterson has received D-1 offers from Buffalo, Eastern Kentucky, Dartmouth, Penn, Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Ohio University, Eastern Michigan, Bucknell, Miami, Ohio.
Patterson had spring visits set up with Power Four programs but made the decision to not wait for other offers and commit immediately to the program that first recognized his talents and that showed real interest in him, the Pitt Panthers.
Sanders and Manalac extended Patterson an offer from Pitt on January 18th.

“I’ve been down to Pitt’s campus three times now,” Patterson tells PSN, “I just feel that in this day and age of recruiting that there’s so much that can happen now. I was just talking with my coaches and parents and my coach told me something that I was thinking about for while. He told me that if I felt something that felt right that you have to make the move.”
“Right now, that’s how it feels with Pitt. Everything feels right and everything feels genuine. The coaches are honest and I feel in this day and age of college football that’s very important in the recruiting process.”
In all likelihood, if he waited, Patterson would likely pick up more offers and probably still will before National Signing Day.
That doesn’t matter to Patterson because he wants to be a Pitt Panther.
“Because if I feel strong about Pitt, what’s the point in waiting and not just commit now,” said Patterson. “Why take a chance, when Pitt has already taken the chance by offering me, which automatically bumps them up a lot.”

“Coach Sanders has always been an honest and genuine guy with me,” said Patterson. “Which is one of the reasons we have such a strong relationship.”
”He never lied to me about where I stood with him. He never said we want you the most out of any defensive back. There is never any smoke and mirrors with Coach Sanders,”
Patterson tells PSN that Pitt wants him as a free safety because they like his length, speed and aggressiveness.
“Every year I’ve gotten better with my ball skills and told me that I checked all the boxes for them.”
The bottom line is that this is a huge day for Patterson and his family because of years of hard work and dedication, he’s now a Power Four recruit.
”I’ve dreamed of playing football at the next level since I started playing,” said Patterson. “I’ve always wanted to eventually make the journey to the league and to become the best football player that I can be.”

”This day is a dream come true. I always believed I’d achieve it but it’s so weird being here now. I know I’m not done but it’s such a surreal moment. This takes away a lot of stress but doesn’t mean I get to stop working.”
Patterson plans to make another upcoming visit to Pitt for a spring practice.
