Pitt To Receive Visit from Talented WR Nyqir Helton

The Pitt Panthers appear to be in a good spot with talented New Jersey wideout Nyqir Helton.

While this isn’t to say he’s definitely going to commit there, just pointing out that Helton clearly has interest in Pitt.

Previously, Helton announced his Top Five, which included Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers and Illinois. Now, Helton has released dates for his summer official visits.

Rivals.com rates Helton as one of the Top 10 juniors in the state of New Jersey.

The native of Atco, New Jersey says that he will make official visits to Syracuse on May 30th, Boston College on June 6th and Pitt on June 12th. Other schools that have offered Helton include Nebraska, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Penn State, Purdue, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Pitt’s interest in this talented playmaker goes back to 2023 when he received a Panther offer from then wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood. Their pursuit of him has continued with Jacob Bronowski taking over his recruitment. Bronowski made an official visit to see him last month.

Last season for Winslow Township High School, Helton (6’1″, 170-pounds) had 47 receptions for 857 yards (18.2 yards per catch) and 13 touchdowns. He also starred on defense recording 20 tackles, 4 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and had 1 fumble recovery.

At this time, Pitt has one commitment for their Class of 2026 in 3-star quarterback Angelo Renda from Southland, Texas. Look for a wave of commitments for Pitt as we approach May and June, that’s the way it historically goes.
