Duquesne Football
Full 2025 Schedule Released for Duquesne Football

Duquesne, in conjunction with the Northeast Conference, has released its schedule for the 2025 football season.
Duquesne will play five home games at Rooney Field next season, including three Northeast Conference (NEC) matchups. The season opener will take place across town against Pitt at Acrisure Stadium on Aug. 30 and the home opener is set for Sept. 6 against Lincoln (Pa.)
The Dukes will play three of their four non-conference opponents for the first time in program history (Lincoln, Lehigh and Akron), and it’s the first Battle of the Burgh since the 1930s.
The NEC slate includes Stonehill, Saint Francis, Mercyhurst, Wagner, LIU, Central Connecticut State and RMU (the regular season finale).
Duquesne went 8-3 (5-1 NEC) and fell to CCSU in the regular season finale — keeping the Dukes out of the FCS Playoffs.
“We had an opportunity here where we learned from it,” head coach Jerry Schmitt said after the season-ending loss in 2024. “We’ll digest it more as we move on here with things we could have done better. I’m proud of the team and how it handled itself down the stretch. Didn’t give up until that last play trying to get a safety and the ball back.”
