‘They are a Top School:’ Three-Star DB Sets Pitt Official Visit

Pitt has been a top school for a 2026 three-star prospect out of Michigan for quite some time.
In the past three months, the defensive back recruit has visited Pitt, a Panthers coach has visited him, and now he has scheduled the all-important official visit.
Marcus Jennings — a 6-foot-3, 190-pound talent out of Cass Tech High School in Detroit, Mich. — announced on Saturday that he will take an official visit with Pitt on June 5-7.

“I wanted to lock in an official visit with Pitt because they are a top school in my recruitment. I want to learn about the culture and overall brand of their program,” Jennings told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Once on campus, Jennings will have an opportunity to further the connections he has built with the Panthers’ coaching staff, including secondary coach Archie Collins and linebacker coach Ryan Manalac, who made an in-school visit with Jennings at the end of January.
“It meant a lot to me for him to come down and see me. We talked about some of their system and my school’s system seeing how things would fit and just chopping up ball in general,” Jennings said.

Manalac and the Pitt staff have relayed to Jennings what they see in him and why he is a key recruit for them.
“They are telling me that Pitt fits my brand of football and they like my position flexibility and my physicality,” Jennings said.
Pitt initially offered Jennings early in 2024, but re-offered him on Jan. 21. It came two months after Jennings was in Pittsburgh to attend the Pitt-Clemson game.
“I left Pittsburgh with the impression that they are a great program who does a great job of developing athletes. I thought the community felt welcoming and the staff showed greats amount of love. I really like the staff, and they stand as one of the top schools recruiting me,” Jennings said in November.
After his Pitt visit, Jennings returned home to help Cass Tech claim a MHSAA Division I State Championship. On the season, he totaled 120-plus tackles, two inerceptions, five sacks, two forced fumbles and recoveries.
Jennings holds a three-star rating from 247Sports and checks in as the 89th safety in the class and No. 24 player out of Michigan.
Along with Pitt, Jennings holds offers from West Virginia, Illinois, UMass, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Marshall, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Toledo, Miami (OH), Kent State, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Akron and Eastern Kentucky.
