On Tuesday night, Pitt will host Georgia Tech in an ACC matchup.

Let’s dive in to the preview for the game.

PITT’S OUTLOOK

After building up a two-game winning streak, the Panthers lost all of their momentum as a team with a weekend loss at Notre Dame, who was missing two of its key players, Braeden Shrewsberry and Matt Allocco. Now, the Panthers return home with the goal of stacking wins and getting hot in time for the ACC Tournament.

While Pitt’s at-large tournament bid chances are looking slim at this point, this is still a must-win game for Pitt due to the weak nature of this year’s NCAA Tournament bubble.

GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS (13-14, 7-9 ACC)

Head Coach: Damon Stoudamire

YELLOW JACKETS REPORT

The Jackets gained some recent momentum with wins over California and Stanford, however, they lost it all quickly with a loss to one of the worst teams in the league, Boston College. GT has wins this season over both Louisville and Clemson — so it will be important for the Panthers not to overlook Stoudamire’s squad.

Georgia Tech ranks in the bottom half of the ACC in most categories, aside from rebounds (sixth), offensive rebounds (8th), defensive rebounds (5th), field-goal percentage defense (5th), and assists per game (5th).

Lance Terry and Naithan George lead the way in the back court, both averaging between 12 and 15 points per game. Big man Baye Ndongo is one of the top bigs in the ACC, and is currently averaging 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.
