**Another upcoming visit for the Pitt football program. 2027 defensive end Lorenzo Tartamella from Red Banks, New Jersey will be making an unofficial visit on March 22nd. Tartamella (6’3″, 220-pounds) currently holds offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Syracuse, James Madison, Boston College and Duke. Tartamella was in Pittsburgh last year for Pitt’s Spring Game. Pitt was the first program to extend Tartamella an offer, which happened in October of 2023.

**A day after receiving an offer from Kent State, Woodland Hills 2026 athlete Scoop Smith received his latest D-1 offer this morning from Miami, Ohio. Smith is building a nice offer list that currently includes Miami Ohio, Kent State, Akron, Buffalo, UMass, Robert Morris, Sacramento State, Temple, Toledo and UNLV.

**The recruitment of Peters Township 3-star TE/DE Lucas Shanafelt could be getting interesting over the upcoming months. With players making upcoming unofficial visits, the chances of receiving an offer from a particular program increase. Last night, Shanafelt announced his intentions to make an unofficial visit to Penn State on April 5th. That’s the same day that North Allegheny defensive tackle Lincoln Hoke will also be visiting. At this point, Shanafelt holds two Power 4 offers- Pitt and West Virginia.

 

Update (7:53 AM)-
**Pitt will be receiving an unofficial visit from 2026 3-star wide receiver Carl Jean-Bart from Evans High School in Orlando, Florida. Bart (5’11”, 175-pounds) plans on visiting Pitt on March 20th. At this stage of his recruitment, Bart holds offers from Pitt, Wake Forest, Liberty, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Bowling Green and Arkansas State. Burt received his Pitt offer from RB coach Lindsey Lamar back on January 23rd.
