Pitt Receiving Official Visit from Former ACC Commit

Rhett Morris has an inspiring story of strength and perseverance, and now he’s one step closer to continuing that story at Pitt.
Morris — a 6-foot-3, 300-pound three-star interior offensive lineman from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J. — is taking an official visit to Pitt from June 19-21, he announced on social media. It’s the first official visit he’s scheduled for this summer.
Morris currently holds offers from Army, Boston College, Coastal Carolina, JMU, Kent State, Old Dominion, Pitt, Temple, UMass, UNLV, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
He’s the only offensive line currently slated to visit in the third official visit window and the third offensive lineman to schedule an official visit.

Morris had been committed to Wake Forest, decommitting last month, and offensive line coach Jeremy Darveau and the Panthers slid in soon after. Darveau stopped by Don Bosco Prep on Jan. 28 — a fresh start in the relationship.
Pitt linebackers coach Ryan Manalac initially extended Morris an offer last May.
“Coach Darveau is awesome,” Morris told Pittsburgh Sports Now last month. “He showed up at school as he made his rounds to New Jersey, and he came to see me. I was able to sit down and talk to him for about 25, 30 minutes. He talked to me about the campus, Pitt’s culture and the way things are at Pitt.
“I previously went on a visit to Pitt for the Virginia game and that was awesome, but I didn’t get a chance to spend quality time with him because it was so busy. After our talk, I’m looking forward to going back for an upcoming spring practice.”
The in-person visit from Darveau meant a lot to Morris.
“In a way, I believe it kind of sets the tone for the school,” Morris said. “In a way, it lets me know that I’m a priority. He told me that he visited four kids in New Jersey that were linemen, and I was one of two that was an interior lineman. Coming to see me means a lot and makes me feel like he cares and with that visit, he’s letting me know that they really want me to come to Pitt.”
247Sports rates Morris as the 74th-ranked interior offensive lineman and 18th-ranked recruit from New Jersey, and while he hasn’t been rated by Rivals yet, he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating.
Pitt is currently slated to host fast-riser offensive lineman Wilson Zierer (Rabun Gap, Ga.) from June 4-6 and four-star offensive lineman Day’Jon Moore (Willis, Tx.) from June 12-14, and there will certainly be a handful more offensive linemen who make it out to Pittsburgh this summer.
Pitt has secured two commitments in the class of 2026, starting the class strong with a commitment from three-star quarterback Angelo Renda (Southlake, Tx.) and adding three-star safety Isaac Patterson (Westerville, Ohio) last week.
