WATCH: Pitt Kicker Ben Sauls Details Journey at NFL Combine

As Pitt kicker Ben Sauls prepares for the NFL combine, he spoke with members of the media Wednesday in Indianapolis, Ind.

Joe Smeltzer of Nittany Sports NowPSN’s Penn State affiliate, was on hand as Sauls spoke about his career at Pitt, his success in 2024 and what it was like kicking at an NFL venue in Acrisure Stadium during his college days.

Sauls, along with the rest of the kickers at the combine, will participate in on-field workouts and measurements Thursday before finishing with the bench press and final interviews on Friday.

Sauls, a a Tipp City, Ohio native, is one of four Panthers set to workout at the NFL combine along with wide receiver Konata Mumpfield, tight end Gavin Bartholomew and offensive lineman Branson Taylor.

Two weeks ago, Sauls was projected to go in the seventh round of the draft to the Baltimore Ravens by Ben Rolfe of Pro Football Network.

During his senior season at Pitt this past fall, Sauls connected on 21-of-24 fields goals and a perfect 44-of-44 extra points. Sauls was excpetional from 50-plus yards, hitting on 6-of-7 attempts with a long of 58 yards against California — tying a Pitt record with Alex Kessman in 2020.

The impressive campaign earned him Pro Football Focus All-American honors, along with All-ACC Third Team recognition.

Across his five-year career at Pitt, Sauls appeared in 53 games, connecting on 52-of-64 field goals (81.3%) and 122 extra points.
