While Pitt offensive lineman Branson Taylor may not compete in the on-field workouts at the NFL Combine as he continues recovering from an injury sustained during his final season with the Panthers, he still has made the most of the experience in Indianapolis, Ind.

On Saturday, Taylor spoke with the media, including Joe Smeltzer of Nittany Sports NowPSN’s Penn State affiliate, about his Pitt career, injury recovery and position flexibility on the offensive line.

Check out Taylor’s media availability below:

Taylor — a 6-foot-6, 330-pound talent from Lorain, Ohio — spent five seasons at Pitt. Unfortunately, his collegiate career came to a close after suffering a lateral meniscus injury against Cal.

The offensive lineman says he is “nearly 100 percent,” but will be watching on the side at the NFL Combine. He does hope to compete at Pitt’s Pro Day at the end of March.

A team captain in 2024, Taylor concluded his career playing in 45 games, including 21 starts. In 2021, Taylor primarily appeared on special teams and as a reserve offensive tackle as the Panthers won their first ACC Championship.

Taylor is one of four Panthers set to workout at the NFL Combine along with wide receiver Konata Mumpfield, kicker Ben Sauls and tight end Gavin Bartholomew.
