Former Pitt Tight End Tendered by Denver Broncos

Former Pitt tight end Lucas Krull will remain a Denver Bronco for another year.

On Tuesday, the Broncos tendered Krull, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. Krull, 26, entered the offseason as an exclusive rights free agent (a player who has two or fewer accrued seasons with an expiring contract). The tight end will make $1.03 million next season.

Krull spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season on the Broncos 53-man roster, appearing in 13 games as he hauled in 19 passes on 23 targets for 152 yards.

A year prior, the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder split the season between the Broncos’ practice squad and active roster. In seven games, he caught eight passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The Shawnee, Kan native started his career with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. He would spend the entire 2022-23 season on the Saints’ practice squad.

Krull transferred to Pitt after two seasons at Florida. After nearly missing the entire season in 2020, Krull became a key target during Pitt’s 2021 ACC Championship run. He played in 14 games, compiling 38 receptions for 451 yards and six touchdowns on his way to All-ACC Second Team honors.
