Four-Star WPIAL DB David Davis Sets Spring Visits

In early January, Imani Christian Academy prospect David Davis was moving forward with his recruitment as he narrowed his list of schools down to six.
Not long after, the four-star defensive back decided to fully reopen his recruitment from his final schools of Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan State, Nebraska and Cincinnati.
“I reopened my recruitment because I wanted to explore all my options and find the best fit for me,” Davis told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Davis, who stands at 6-foot, 190 pounds, holds offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan State, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Duke, Tennessee, Maryland, James Madison, Miami (OH) and Akron.
As he reconsiders his options, Davis says Penn State is a team that is standing out. He will take a spring visit to Happy Valley on March 25. Davis has visited Penn State a handful of times, including a gameday visit against Ohio State in November.
Davis will also visit Ohio State on March 17 and Delaware on March 15 as he continues to look to add other dates to his list.
When it comes to his recruitment, Davis has a few boxes that schools need to check.
“Some of my priorities include academic excellence, community and opportunities for growth,” he said.
As the hometown program, Pitt is another contender for Davis.
“I think Pitt has a lot going for it. The campus is nice, and they’ve got some awesome programs,” Davis said.
On3 rates Davis as a four-star recruit. He checks in as the No. 9 player in Pennsylvania and the 16th-ranked athlete in the class.
Davis was a key piece on Imani Christian Academy playing both running back and defensive back as the Saints posted an 11-1 record and perfect 6-0 conference record in 2024.
