PITTSBURGH — On Saturday night, Pitt dominated Boston College on Senior Night at the Petersen Events Center behind senior guard Ishmael Leggett and his teammates.

Pitt jumped out to an early 15-4 lead over the Eagles that included an 11-0 run. During the run, Beebah Cummings knocked down a three pointer, then was fouled on another three-point try. He made all three free throws to extend the Panthers’ lead up to 11 early. The Panthers continued their domination throughout the half, building up their largest halftime lead of the season.

At the break, Pitt led 48-19 over Boston College, led by Ishmael Leggett’s 11 points, Cam Corhen’s ten, and Cummings’ nine points. Pitt held Boston College to 28% shooting in the first half, and clamped down on the Eagles beyond the arch. BC only made one three in the first half, going 1 for 11 from downtown.

In the second half, the Panthers maintained control while Boston College tried to battle back. With just under 15 minutes to play, Jaland Lowe fought through a screen by a BC player who bumped out his shoulder and hit Lowe. After a quick review, the referees assessed BC a flagrant foul, Lowe hit two free throws, and Pitt took a 25-point lead.

On his senior night, Leggett continued to light up the stat sheet for Pitt. He drained his fourth three pointer of the night just before the 11-minute mark in the second half, increasing his point total up to 14 points. Cummings, the freshman, also stayed hot in the second half.

The Panthers cruised to the victory behind four double-digit scorers: Leggett, Corhen, Cummings, and Jaland Lowe. Lowe finished with a double-double, going for 15 points and ten assists in the win. Austin led the way with seven rebounds. Corhen finished with 16 points, and four rebounds.

Amdy Ndiaye, Marlon Barnes, and Stevenson all checked into the game in the final minutes. Barnes made a deep two pointer, and Stevenson made two free throws for their first buckets of their Pitt career.

With the win, Pitt improved to 17-14 overall and 8-12 in ACC play. Pitt wraps up the regular season with that record, and will now travel down to Charlotte, North Carolina for the ACC Tournament next week. Tournament play kicks off on Tuesday, March 11 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
