College Basketball Coaches Carousel Heating Up: Who is Getting Fired?

The college basketball coaching carousel is heating up.
Coaches from all over the country are getting fired as seasons come to an end. Let’s check out some of the coaches that have been fired — or parted ways with their school — recently.
KEVIN KEATTS, NC STATE
Keatts led the Wolfpack to an ACC Tournament title and the NCAA Tournament Final Four just last season. However, after a 12-19 season (5-15 in ACC action), NC State moved on from Keatts, paying a reported $7.8 million buyout.
Keatts’ resume: 8 seasons, 151-113 record, 69-84 ACC record, 3 NCAA Tournaments, 1 Final Four, 1 ACC Tournament Championship
A $7.8 million basketball coach buyout.
According to @GoodmanHoops, NC State was spending about $2 million on its basketball roster. https://t.co/JABDXROJXn

MIKE WOODSON, INDIANA
Woodson announced that he will be stepping down as Indiana’s leader despite a relatively short tenure.
Woodson’s resume: 4 seasons, 82-52 record, 41-39 Big Ten record, 2 NCAA Tournaments.
Average # of D1 coaching changes over the past 4 yrs is 63.25.
Last season was 68 – up from 61 the year before.
I think it’s going to be another big number this year.
Setting the O/U at 67.5.
Buckle up. This week will be a busy one…

CRAIG SMITH, UTAH
Utah fired Smith before the season was over.
Smith’s resume: 4 seasons, 65-62 record, 30-46 Pac-12/Big 12 record.
Pitt head coach Jeff Capel is currently in his seventh year as HC for the Panthers. Capel’s resume while at Pitt compares similarly to some of these coaches: 114-106 record, 55-79 ACC record. This year’s team finished the regular season 17-14 with an 8-12 ACC record, earning the No. 13 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament. Capel is locked in with Pitt until 2030.
