PITTSBURGH — With Pitt spring practice No. 2 in the books, head coach Pat Narduzzi spoke with the media about his observations through the first two practices.

Watch the entire Pat Narduzzi press conference below:

Narduzzi discussed the work of quarterbacks Eli Holstein and Julian Dugger, along with the where the running back room stands behind Desmon Reid. He lists Juelz Goff as the early RB2 with freshman Ja’Kyrian Turner and transfer Justin Cook as other pieces in the room. Narduzzi stated that Derrick Davis Jr. will be out until at least fall camp.

The 11th-year head coach also touched on the offensive line, an area in which needs improvement this offseason, and who has stood out so far with the transfer Jeff Persi, Keith Gouveia and Kendall Stanley.

He also discussed what he has seen from the defensive side of the ball, especially at defensive end with another slew of transfers fighting for time. Narduzzi says that Cruce Brookins is the frontrunner for the open starting safety job.
