Pitt Basketball Lands Five-Star, Highest-Rated Recruit in History

Pitt women’s basketball made a splash in the women’s basketball world on Wednesday.
The Panthers earned a commitment from Nylah Wilson, a five-star prospect.

Wilson is the highest-rated recruit in Pitt WBB program history, per Josh Rowntree of 93.7 The Fan. Ranked as the No. 45 recruit in the class of 2025, Wilson plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. She is ranked as a five-star prospect by 247 Sports’ Composite rankings, and held other offers from Texas A&M, St. John’s, Ole Miss, Penn State, Auburn, Arizona, and many more. Wilson was at one point committed to Auburn, back in November 2024.

After Auburn head coach Johnnie Harris was fired recently, Wilson reopened her recruitment.
Pitt did not make Wilson’s initial top-schools list that consisted of Arizona, Auburn, Penn State, Baylor, and Texas A&M. However, now, the Panthers have won the recruitment.
Wilson is a 5-foot-8 combo guard.
Pitt finished this past season 13-19 overall and 5-13 in ACC action. The Panthers went 9-7 at home and 4-8 on the road. Pitt earned the No. 15 seed in the ACC Tournament, but was knocked out in the first game by tenth-seeded Virginia. 64-50. Pitt’s best player, Khadija Faye, recently declared for the WNBA Draft.
