Former Pitt Hooper Now an NIL Agent Repping 40+ Clients

I was on the phone with Ryan Murphy for 15 minutes earlier this week. During that 15-minute span, he received eight additional phone calls.
“My phone is going crazy,” he said right off the bat.
Murphy, a former Pitt and Duquesne basketball player, wrapped up his collegiate playing career after the 2020-21 season at Duquesne. He then played professional basketball from 2021-23 with Artland Dragons, a professional team in Germany. Once he decided to hang up the sneakers, Murphy started working as a real estate agent with The Beverly Hills Estates, selling luxury properties in California. Now, he is working as a different kind of agent.
An NIL agent.
Murphy works for Endurance Sports Management. His father handles basketball operations for the firm. In addition to the two, the firm has law professionals and financial experts providing assistance to the players, as well. Endurance is led by ex-athletes, themselves, which Murphy feels gives them an advantage. The former three-time transfer can personally relate to the players that are going through the portal nowadays.
“My experience in the portal was pretty good,” Murphy told PSN. “I used the portal to go from Charlotte and New Mexico Junior College, and not just play — but be a starter, and hold the record of most points scored off the bench. I hit a game winner on Boston College. We navigated that process, I’d like to think, almost perfectly — for a six-foot, balding point guard.”
Virginia Tech G Rodney Brown Jr. will enter the transfer portal, his agent Ryan Murphy of @EnduranceManag1 tells TPR.

“I know what these guys want, and what they’re looking for,” he added. “I care about these kids.”
Murphy and his agency, Endurance, are including NBA-level training for their basketball clients this summer, a perk of signing with the brand. Along with contractual assistance in the NIL world, Murphy and his team are truly a resource for their clients.
“I would say it is extremely important to have an agent,” he said. “I think relationships matter now more than ever in this industry. I think people who actually understand the space as agents or representation is extremely important. These kids don’t know a good deal from a bad deal, they don’t know what each other are getting, because it’s not publicized. I think it protects a lot of kids.”
Toledo G Seth Hubbard will enter the transfer portal, Ryan Murphy of Endurance Management tells TPR.

Most contracts, Murphy says, range from $50,000 and up so far this portal cycle. High-major players are certainly commanding six-figure deals frequently. In addition, several guys will likely earn seven-figure contracts this portal season.
“You have to be willing to work your ass off,” he said about life as an NIL agent. “You can’t be lazy. I live in L.A., my day started at 4 a.m. handling calls. I was on the phone with over 15 schools, and that’s just for one player.”
Murphy’s list of clients ranges all over college basketball. Brock Harding out of Iowa (8 PPG and 5 APG) is one of his clients. Zarique Nutter out of Georgia State (14 PPG) is, too. Murphy says that he represents somewhere around 45 college hoopers at this point. If you find him on social media (@ryangreye24 on Instagram), you’ll see him promoting his players — many of whom are planning to enter the transfer portal on March 24.
