PITTSBURGH — Pitt football is about to hit the midway point of its spring camp with the completion of practice No. 5 on the South Side and following Thursday’s practice, running back Desmond Reid, defensive end Jimmy Scott and linebacker Braylan Lovelace all spoke with the media.

The trio talked about a variety of topics, including progress within each of their respective units.

Check out the press conferences from Desmond Reid, Jimmy Scott and Braylan Lovelace below:

Reid spoke on the running back room and the growth of redshirt freshman Juelz Goff, transfer Justin Cook and freshman Ja’Kyrian Turner. He also provided insight on his relationship with quarterback Eli Holstein and how it has grown over the past year.

For Scott, he discussed what he is looking to improve upon during the offseason in preparation of the 2025 season. He also talked about how the transfer defensive ends in Blaine Spires, Joey Zelinsky and Jaeden Moore have transitioned into the defense. The redshirt junior finished his availability talking about his basketball skills and who else on the team can hold up on the court.

Lovelace represented the linebackers and described the work being done in that unit as younger linebackers such as Jeremiah Marcelin, Cameron Lindsey and Davin Brewton look to make an impact. The Leechburg, Pa. native also spoke on what it means to represent the hometown program.
