Another Duquesne Duke has entered the transfer portal.

Duquesne’s Matus Hronsky has entered the portal, according to Verbal Commits on Twitter. He joins Kareem Rozier as the second Duke to enter the transfer portal. The transfer portal window officially opened today (Monday, March 24) for undergraduate players. More than 600 players at the DI level have already entered or announced their upcoming entry into the portal.

Hronsky, a 6-foot-8 forward, spent three seasons at Duquesne. He played in a career-high 32 games this year while also setting a career mark with 11 starts. Hronsky averaged 5.2 points per game in 16.9 minutes. He shot 35% from three — a career-high number for his collegiate campaign. As a freshman, he played in 19 games with zero starts. Hronsky then played in 24 games for the 2023-24 team that went to the NCAA Tournament and knocked off BYU. He also averaged 1.9 rebounds per game in his final season with the Dukes, his junior year.

Last offseason, Hronsky (representing Slovakia) traveled overseas to compete in two international friendlies for his home country. Hronsky played against Portugal twice, scoring 18 points in his first game and then 13 in his second.

“… I enjoyed it, it was awesome,” Hronsky said. “I saw some guys that I didn’t see for a long time that play professional. I enjoyed it as much as I could.”
