Former Pitt LB Joining College Football Coaching Ranks

After seven years in college football as a player, former Pitt linebacker Keye Thompson is staying in the college ranks, but this time as a coach.
Thompson is joining Denison University, a Division III program in Granville, Ohio, as the linebackers coach.

The Barberton, Ohio native spent the 2024 season with Pitt serving as a reliable backup middle linebacker. In 10 games, Thompson totaled 28 tackles (nine solo), two tackles for loss, one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry. He missed three games due to injury.
According to Pro Football Focus, Thompson played 247 total snaps on the season as he earned a 72.2 overall grade.
Prior to Pitt, the 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker played in five seasons with the Ohio Bobcats. As a grad student in 2023, Thompson recorded 94 tackles (42 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries, which led to All-Mac First Team honors.
During the 2022 season, Thompson appeared in 14 games, making 96 tackles (45 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also added one interception, two fumble recoveries and three pass breakups.
In 45 games with the Bobcats, Thompson posted 252 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, along with three interceptions and six fumble recoveries.
