Pitt Panthers women's basketball guard Marley Washenitz announced on Twitter that she will enter the transfer portal.

Pitt women’s basketball has lost another player to the transfer portal after an improved season under Tory Verdi.

Guard Marley Washenitz announced on Twitter that she will enter the transfer portal.

A 5-foot-7 guard out of Fairmont, West Virginia, Washenitz averaged 9.3 points and 2.7 assists this year for the Panthers while shooting 35% from three-point range.

She concluded her season with a 10-point, five-rebound game, playing all 40 minutes against Virginia in the Panthers’ ACC Tournament loss. This wraps up her three-year career with Pitt, where she played after de-committing from West Virginia back in high school. Washenitz scored over 500 points and dished out over 200 assists in her time at Pitt.

Aaryn Battle and Kiara Williams have also both entered the transfer portal, leaving Pitt.

Previously, guard Aislin Malcolm entered the portal as well after leaving the team midseason. Malcolm has since committed to Robert Morris to play for Chandler McCabe and staff.

Battle is a 5-foot-10 guard who was a sophomore this year. The Sewell, New Jersey native played in 32 games as a freshman in 2023-24, and then played in 32 games once again this past season. However, she only started four this year, compared to 19 starts as a freshman. She averaged 16.8 minutes per game for the Panthers this season, scoring 3.3 points per game. Battle’s career-highs came as a freshman in most major stats, as she averaged 4.8 points, two assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game that season.

Williams is a 6-foot freshman forward out of Palm Bay, Florida. She did not see the floor this year for Pitt. Pitt landed Williams in September 2023.

Pitt beat out other schools in UNCG, George Mason, Southern Miss, Michigan, Mississippi State, who also offered Williams.

She stands at 6-foot-1 and plays both power forward and center for Palm Bay Magnet High School in Melbourne, Fla. As a junior last season, she averaged 13.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, including 3.7 offensive rebounds, along with 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.4 blocks per game, respectively.
