Who is Pitt Recruiting in the Transfer Portal?

The transfer portal is loaded with talent from all levels of college basketball already, after opening on Monday.

Let’s take a look at the players that the Pitt men’s basketball staff has contacted in week one of portal season.

JASAI MILES – NORTH FLORIDA

Miles averaged 15.4 points per game for UNF this year, shooting 43% from the field. The 6-foot-6 guard is a 34% three-point shooter.

JAMICHAEL STILLWELL – MILWAUKEE

The 6-foot-8 forward, 225-pound forward averaged 13 points and 10.7 rebounds per game this year for the Panthers.

This was his first season at Milwaukee, coming from Butler County Community College in Kansas. He is an Atlanta, Georgia native, whose nickname is “Mr. Stand On Business,” according to the Milwaukee basketball roster. Stillwell played high-school ball at Elevation Prep.

This season, Stillwell posted a 19-rebound game against Green Bay, as well as a 26-point game against Robert Morris. He averaged 28 minutes per game and shot 29% from three-point range, making 20 threes on the season. Stillwell blocked 12 shots and had 40 steals on the year, while scoring in double figures 26 times.

CHANDLER JACKSON – FSU

Jackson is a junior from Memphis, Tennessee. He averaged 6.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game this season for the Seminoles while shooting 42% from the field. Jackson did not attempt many threes, taking just 39 on the entire season and making just six. He did shoot 38% from three his freshman season, but his percentage from deep has decreased each year since.

Jackson started 27 out of the 29 games that he played for FSU this past season under head coach Leonard Hamilton, who has since retired.

JONATHAN POWELL – WVU

A freshman from Centerville, Ohio, Powell averaged 8.3 points this season. He finished second on WVU in three-pointers (64) and three-point shooting (35.2%). Powell played in all 32 games and started the final 23 after replacing Tucker DeVries in the starting lineup following his injury.Powell reached double-digit points in 15 games this season, scoring a career-high 17 in wins over North Carolina Central and Oklahoma State. He was the hero on WVU’s Senior Day, scoring 15 points, including a pair of clutch three-pointers in the final minutes.

AMARRI MONROE – QUINNIPIAC

Monroe is a 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward out of Newburgh, New York who spent one season at Wofford before spending the last two at Quinnipiac. This past season, Monroe averaged 18.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while shooting 41% from the field. He shot just 27% from three-point range this season, making 51 of his 187 attempts from beyond the arch. Monroe posted nine double doubles this past year.

NOAH WILLIAMSON – BUCKNELL

Williamson won the Patriot League Player of the Year award this season after averaging 17.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game for the Bisons.

He shot 32% from three-point range, making 28 threes on the season. Williamson also knocked down 63% of his free-throw attempts on the season. Williamson posted a season-best 32 points against Southern Indiana in the first month of the season, and grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds against Loyola Maryland in January. He blocked five shots in a game against Richmond, and even had a game with six three pointers against Colgate.

TAE DAVIS – ND

Davis is a 6-foot-9, 208-pound forward out of Indianapolis, Indiana.He began his career at Seton Hall, playing 32 games for the Pirates as a freshman in 2022-23. Then, he transferred to Notre Dame, starting 31 games in year one for the Irish. In that sophomore year, he averaged 9.2 points per game for the Irish.

Then, this past season, Davis broke out for Notre Dame. In 33 starts, he averaged 30.8 minutes per game and 15.1 points per contest. He also grabbed 5.3 rebounds per game. Davis shot 48% from the field this season and 72% from the free-throw line.

COREY CHEST – LSU

Chest entered the portal on Monday after one year at LSU.

The former four-star prospect is a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward out of Link Academy in Missouri. He spent one year with the Tigers after being ranked in the top-100 as a high-school senior. Chest finished high school ranked as the No. 97 prospect in his class, per 247 Sports.

Chest is an athletic big man who led the team in offensive rebounding and total rebounding as just a rookie. He also had 32 blocks on the defensive end, one of the best totals on the team. Chest posted four double doubles as a freshman, including a 12-point, 18-rebound outburst against No. 4 Alabama in late January.

TOBY HARRIS – BRANDEIS (D3)

Harris averaged 18.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this past season as a senior. He went 65 for 161 on three-point attempts, a 40% mark.

Harris had the best statistical season of his career as a sophomore two years ago, averaging a career-best 19.2 points per game and hitting 44% of his three-point tries. He then played only three games in the 2023-24 season due to injury.
