Hinson has played 32 games for the Warriors so far this year in the G League, averaging 29.3 minutes per contest. His stats have improved dramatically throughout the year, and Hinson has cemented himself as one of the top players in the league. Hinson is now averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting 45% from the field and 38% from three-point range. Hinson is also averaging 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
Hinson — a forward from Deltona, Fla. — capped off his two-year Pitt career with a dominant showing as a senior. He averaged 18.8 points per on 45/42/67 shooting splits and added 4.6 rebounds per game. He hit the 20-point mark 14 times and hit 41 points against Louisville.
He earned first-team All-ACC honors as a senior, setting a single-season program record with 110 3-pointers and a single-game program record with nine 3-pointers in a game (against West Virginia).
In two seasons at Pitt, Blake Hinson averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and one assist per game on 44/40/67 shooting splits — showing a knack for hitting deep or contested 3-point attempts.
He also played for Ole Miss and Iowa State during his collegiate career.
Hinson signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Warriors in September, after being waived by the Lakers, and it allowed him to participate in the preseason and play for the G-League squad if he didn’t make the NBA roster.
