Kansas City Chiefs to Host Brandon George for Pre-Draft Visit

Pitt linebacker Brandon George improved his stock at the Panthers’ pro day last week and it has led to a pre-draft visit with one of the premiere and most successful organizations in all of the National Football League.
Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network reported that George will meet with the Kansas City Chiefs for a top-30 visit. The visit will take place from April 8-9, a source tells Pittsburgh Sports Now.
The Chiefs reached the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year in February before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles. It was the fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years for Kansas City, a stretch that has seen the organization win three championships.
George put together some impressive numbers at Pitt’s pro day with 28 reps on the 225-pound bench press and a 42.5-inch vertical jump – both numbers that would have received top marks at the NFL Combine amongst linebackers.

He measured at 6-foot-3 1/2 and 246 pounds, while running a 4.62 unofficial 40-yard dash, 6.94 second three-cone drill and a 4.09 shuttle drill.
“I feel like I did well overall,” he said after his workout. “I feel like I showed my athleticism. I feel like I showed that even though I’m 246 pounds that I can still move well for being that weight. Overall, I feel good with what I did today and I’m hoping everybody else does, too.”
George spent six seasons with the Panthers as he set the program record for games played with 65. He compiled 197 tackles, 16.5 for a loss and four sacks.
All George is looking for in the coming weeks is a shot at the next level no matter the opportunity.
“Obviously I’m not the top linebacker off the board,” he said. “I’m not delusional to that. I feel like the ability that I have to play special teams over the past couple years that I’ve been playing here at Pittsburgh definitely helps my case because some teams think I’m a guy, I might not be drafted high, but I’m a guy that’ll stick because I’m a willing participant in special teams, all four phases.”
