Pitt to Receive Official Visit from Three-Star New Jersey Recruit

The official visitor list continues to grow for Pitt football for the month of June as the Panthers will host 2026 three-star cornerback prospect Xavier Jackson for a third time.
Jackson — a 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect out of Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey — will take an official visit to Pitt from June 19-21, he announced via X on Monday.

Jackson visited Pitt during the fall for the first time when Pitt took on Virginia. He left the game with a fresh offer from the Panthers. He then returned again in January for a junior day visit.
“My junior day was great,” Jackson told Pittsburgh Sports Now in January. “The coaches and recruits were great and treated us great. What stood out was the facilities and the coaches’ energy.”
Over the months, Jackson has built a relationship with cornerbacks coach Archie Collins, who provided Jackson some additional insight on the Pitt defense, defensive back room and the Panthers’ play style on his most recent visit.
“I talked to Coach Collins a lot. He keeps all his conversations real, and he even made me put my film on the board and evaluated it with me and the things I did wrong,” Jackson said.
“They said they liked how aggressive I was and how I knew how to get the ball out. The also like my size and length,” Jackson added.
Jackson was a key part of Bergen Catholic’s team this past fall during his first season with the program as the Crusaders won their fourth straight state title. He registered 32 tackles, six passes defended, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one tackle for loss on the season.
Rivals rates Jackson as a three-star prospect and the 16th player in New Jersey in the 2026 cycle.
Since the start of the calendar year, Jackson has seen his recruitment pick up as he now owns offers from Pitt, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, West Virginia, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Army, Navy, Charlotte, UConn, Temple, Liberty, James Madison and others.
Pitt is the only official visit slated for Jackson as of now. Syracuse is a team to keep an eye on his Jackson’s recruitment, however, as he took a recent visit there this past week and the Orange staff has visited at home as well.
