PITTSBURGH — Pitt football is one practice closer to the Blue-Gold spring game on April 12 at Acrisure Stadium.

On Thursday, the running backs were showcasing their versatility with plenty of reps catching the ball out of the backfield.

Offensive coordinator Kade Bell and running backs coach Lindsey Lamar are looking for their running backs to make an impact not only on the ground but as a pass-catching threat as well.

Last season, Desmond Reid perfected that and was an all-around weapon for Pitt. Redshirt freshman Juelz Goff is looking to take the next step and follow in Reid’s footsteps.

East Stroudsburg transfer Justin Cook and freshman Ja’Kyrian Turner are also hoping to see an increased role in the Pitt offense this season. Redshirt senior running back Derrick Davis Jr. continues to be out for spring camp.
